Web Design and Development
MySell.com
MySell.com is West Michigan’s premier internet auction for sellers and buyers to meet, sell excess items and buy below retail price. MySell uses both an online presence and a showroom to deliver the best experience for both buyers and sellers.
MySell.com approached RCM Technologies to help improve their online presence and drive more business by updating their design, improving performance and expanding functionality of their existing site. RCM provided a road map and guided MySell.com to execute that vision. RCM is providing a “one stop internet shop” where we provided strategy, project management, UI design, implementation, and support for their application.
Application Development
American Seating
For over 120 years American Seating has set the standard for product design, durability and comfort for various seating product lines with optional features to suit varying budgets, aesthetics and use requirements. To meet their clients’ customized needs, the company offers a vast array of options.
RCM rebuilt an AutoCAD ADS application using the Managed Object ARX API and Microsoft C# 2.0. The solution was built on a client/server based configuration so that each installation of the application could be centrally managed. Additionally, all standards were based to provide consistent drawings between users (layers, text styles, line types, etc.).
Mobility Solutions
University of Cincinnati
The University of Cincinnati cultivates the highest-quality learning environment, world-renowned scholarship, and a spirit of community service, all of which is facilitated by the appropriate use of information technology.
To promote a more connected community through technological leadership, the University of Cincinnati decided to start offering its own mobile phones and rate program to its students, faculty, and staff. The university teamed up with Microsoft® Gold Certified Partners clearTXT and RCM Technologies, which deliver line-of-business applications that run on Windows Mobile® 5.0 software and use the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework. RCM Technologies built the program’s safety and convenience features, including the link to the university’s police department, call tracking for security logs, and shuttle bus notification.
Infrastructure
BISSELL
BISSELL, a 131 year-old floor care innovator and manufacturer of home cleaning products, needed to improve communications and productivity among employees – particularly those who worked in different geographical areas. With a 12 hour time difference between the company’s Michigan–based office and Hong Kong–based office, BISSELL IT professionals experienced difficulties in reaching the right people at the right time. Basic IT resolutions were being prolonged because of the inability to detect employee availability.
In response to BISSELL’s problem, RCM Technologies deployed Microsoft Office Live Communications Server to 70 of their employees. After seeing significant improvements in employee productivity, the company decided to participate in the Rapid Deployment Program for Microsoft Office Server 2007 Beta – a solution that integrates advanced presence, IM, VoIP and on–premise live conference technology.
Business Intelligence
EquaTerra
EquaTerra is a professional and advisory services company that, among other things, helps companies build the organizational governance capability to effectively manage their relationships with outsourcing services providers. The company sought to create a sellable solution for corporations who lacked the organizational capability to effectively manage their outsourced relationships.
The solution was Governance WorkPlace™ (GWP), a Microsoft based tool that is sold as either an installed product within a customer’s organization or a hosted solution with a recurring subscription fee. RCM had a vision to modify the existing architecture for GWP, simplify the implementation process, improve analytical performance and establish a foundation for the enhancement of GWP with next–generation business intelligence tools, such as Microsoft Performance Point. RCM built Governance WorkPlace on SharePoint Server, SQL Server and Microsoft Office. Its architecture integrates with customers’ and other service providers’ performance management tools, which are extensible to other Microsoft products (e.g. BizTalk, Project Server, Excel Server, Rights Management Server, UCC, etc.).
